Web Development Course
In this six-part web design course, students learn to create a website centered around an artifact, such as a museum piece or library item. Guided through the fundamentals of HTML and CSS, students develop practical web development skills by researching, designing, and presenting their projects.
Webdev 101
Students are assigned artifacts to research and gather relevant information. They also learn the basics of web page structure to begin building their site.
Webdev 104
With an HTML and CSS review, students learn to create links and buttons and connect multiple web pages. They practice page linking and start designing their project sites in groups.
Webdev 102
After setting up development software, students dive into HTML basics, practicing titles, headings, paragraphs, tables, lists, and images. They also learn to open and view their pages locally.
Webdev 105
Teams work on integrating their research and using HTML and CSS skills to structure and style their web pages. Each group member contributes to completing various parts of the project.
Webdev 103
Students are introduced to CSS for styling, using colors, and organizing content with classes and IDs. They practice by replicating a sample website, with a class review of the code afterward.
Webdev 106
Students put the finishing touches on their projects and present their custom websites, showcasing their research, creativity, and newfound web design expertise to the class.
